Eligibility

  • Must be covered under a qualified, high deductible health plan
  • Cannot be covered by another health plan that is not a high deductible health plan
  • Cannot be claimed as a dependent on another person's tax return
  • Cannot be enrolled in Medicare

Contribution Limits

Contribution limits are set by the IRS.
Current 2023 contribution limits are:
  • $3,850 for an individual
  • $7,750 for a family
Current 2024 contribution limits are:
  • $4,150 for an individual
  • $8,300 for a family
An individual age 55 or older may make an additional $1,000 in "catch-up" contributions.
